Compton, CA – Today, Satra is pleased to announce she has received the endorsement of the influential Los Angeles Sentinel Newspaper. The LA Sentinel newspaper has over 125,000 readers and is the oldest and largest African American Newspaper in the Western United States.

As Compton voters have already began receiving their ballots, this endorsement underscores the front-runner status for Satra’s campaign for Compton City Clerk.

Meet Satra

Satra is a dedicated public servant committed to providing exceptional customer service and professionalism in the Clerk’s office. She is committed to digitizing records, moving paper processes to a web-based format and streamlining business processes and workflow management to better serve residents. She will also increase voter engagement and education and ensure all residents have access to public records in a timely manner. Satra is committed to transparency and will assist the County run election process with integrity and the highest ethical standards.

 

Satra has prepared herself by taking coursework from the City Clerk’s Association of California and by becoming a Licensed Notary Public. She has also gained valuable experience by serving our city on the Compton School Board.

 

Satra is a third-generation Compton resident and a proud graduate of Compton High School. She is a mother, small business owner, community leader, public servant and volunteer. She has served our community as President of the Compton School Board, as a Board Member for the Boys & Girls Club, as a PTA President, as a member of the Compton Campfire Girls, Compton Crime Watch and as the Co-Founder of the Annual “Compton Walk for a Cure” breast cancer awareness event that is the largest free outdoor wellness festival in Compton.

 

In addition to her over 20 years of volunteer service, Satra has worked for the City of Compton for over 28 years in various departments at a senior level. She understands the inner-workings of all city departments and can hit the ground running on day-one.

 

Satra has received numerous awards and proclamations and was most proud to be named “Assembly District Democrat of the Year” by our Assemblyman. Satra has a long and distinguished record of working collaboratively with others.
